We had an awesome experience with this company despite our tragic loss.... Eric Kuge, Owner, went out of his way to accommodate our every wish. There were no high pressure sales or upcharges.. as with most funeral homes... You could pay as much or little as you desired for your loved one. We had no worries about anything because he handled everything and walked us through it all. Eric was kind and sensitive to our needs...He has been in the business for a long time and his expertise was very appreciated during our time of sorrow. He answered every question we had and was very trustworthy and compassionate to our loss and grieving. He showed that he really cared about us and our loved one. I would highly recommend this company for their professionalism and attention to detail. He worked around our schedule and met our every need during this sad time in our lives... Everything was seemless and handled just as he had explained... It's a hard thing to go through when you have lost a loved one.... but Eric truly understands..

We selected Beacon for my brother's cremation in September 2016, initially because the prices were the most competitive, but also after learning that Beacon would be able to expedite the process for us (which they were able to do in just 5 days!) because they were able to work electronically with hospice and the government agencies. We live in Arizona and after being in Largo for over 2 weeks while our brother was in the hospital, needed to arrange for his memorial service and obtain the death certificate quickly, which would allow us to take care of as much business as possible before returning home. We had contacted Abbey Affordable and a few others in the area, but they weren't as knowledgeable as Beacon and actually told us it would take up to 2 weeks to go through the process "because of government rules". I could tell they weren't as advanced as Beacon technologically, either; they didn't have an online process as Beacon does and their websites were confusing. What a great choice we made in choosing Beacon! Eric and Janice were wonderful; they worked around our schedule to provide their end-to-end services, even staying late to meet with us initially and also coming in during off-business hours for us to pick up the celebration of life folders we ordered for my brother's memorial service. Eric was so gentle and kind with us (SO very appreciated during such a difficult time!) and made the whole process very straightforward. He was very attentive to detail, emailing me with copies of the folders we choose and the obituary proof, and walked us through the pricing of each item required or optional. Eric was also great about providing electronic copies of all of the receipts as well, and even gently made much-appreciated suggestions for wording the cards and the obituary. We selected a couple of beautiful small urns and a nice necklace for my brother's girlfriend, which was upgraded as no additional cost to us when the one she picked out was unavailable. The rest of our brother's remains were provided in the basic container, which came In a very nice decorative box that had the nice quality black container inside that is described online; perfect for going to scatter his ashes at a subsequent time. There wasn't any pushy up-selling, either; just lots of honesty, kindness, attention to details and going over and above expectations to help us get through one of the most difficult times in our lives. I can't thank Eric and Janice enough for all they did to help us!

I went to Beacon after researching a few crematory locations in the Pinellas area. Their online site outlined everything the service provided, so I called and made an appointment with a nice lady named Janice to go there in person. She was very flexible with the appointment time to meet with Eric, the Beacon Funeral Director, and asked if I wanted to use the online application on their site before the appointment, and offered assistance if I needed it. But the online process was easy to navigate, and each step sent an email confirmation so I was able to double-check all of the information with my family beside me. Although Beacon is in a strip shopping center, it was a pleasant storefront and we weren’t even to the door when Janice came out to greet us. When I met with Eric, he was also very kind, first giving me and my family his sincerest condolences before inviting us to come into his office to go over the details. He was quite calm and patient with all of our questions, as we had many since we had not been through this before. Given the stress of our recent loss, the last thing we wanted was a sales pitch on lots of extras and thankfully, that didn’t happen…everything that was listed online was included, no extra charges that weren’t mentioned. The best part was the way Eric took care of us, he has the most soft-spoken, gentle demeanor and made the whole situation as painless as possible. He and Janice took care of everything from end-to-end, and within the week we were able to pick up our brother’s ashes in the black urn that is included in the basic price (it was inside a box with an artistic seaside pattern on it) to carry home to south Florida. Thanks again to Janice and Eric for making this part of losing our brother painless.
When we were in the unfortunate and unforeseen circumstance of needing to find a competent and compassionate cremation company, Eric at Beacon Direct fit the bill. He was timely and reasonably priced. He went the extra mile by accommodating my schedule and expediting communications between the medical examiner and me. I was very pleased with Beacon, Eric was very compassionate with the lose of my sister. Anything I needed or wanted to know he was there to help me anytime day or night. They are a great group of people and they care about you and your love one you have lost. I will recommend them to anyone that needs that type of sevice. There was no hidden fees. Cremation 24/7 was recommended by Hospice who helped take care of my mother the last few months of her life. I trusted Hospice to choose a reputable service and they did! Eric from Beacon was courteous and compassionate during this whole procedure. We had constant telephone calls and emails daily. My family and I are very pleased with this service.
Everyone I dealt with was top-notch professionals who made our experience second to none. From the first phone call to the picking up of my mothers remains, Eric and his team were amazing. The whole process seemed so simple that I felt like I was leaving something out. Eric is thorough and took care of everything. I didn't have one worry about things not getting done. Eric called me regularly to keep me informed as to where things were in the process, and followed-up with me on a few things on my end to ensure they were being done. On the day that I met with Eric, to pre-arrange my mothers wishes, little did we know that 5 hours later she would be gone. I was with her at the time and waited until someone from Eric's team arrived. They were there within an hour. The gentleman arrived wearing a suit, was kind and gentle, and even the stretcher had decorative blankets and pillows. I took comfort in knowing that my mother was being taken care of in the most respectful and dignified way. I don't have a single negative thing to say. Cremation 24/7, and Eric especially, made this difficult time, stress free.
During such a difficult and sad time for our family, it was comforting to have someone as kind and attentive as Eric to help us with all our needs. He was most informative and so accommodating. Eric certainly went above and beyond to assist our Mom - we highly recommend Eric (and Janice) to everyone who may need their services.
Eric was the most caring and compassionate person with my mother's passing, he went above and beyond when we had a debacle with our DR's office.
